FPA Secret Santa - UPDATE

Hi there, everyone!

My apologies for the immense delay in delivering everyone's names for this year's SS out- schedules are things I've been having TERRIBLE luck with lately.  (School, work, health problem, yaddayaddayaddayaddaetc.)

I shall have names going out to everyone tomorrow evening- be looking for them!

THE FURCADIA PORTRAIT ARTIST'S SECRET SANTA GIFT EXCHANGE

We had an AMAZING turn-out for this last year- 37 people- and I'd LOVE to see even more come out to join in this year!  Further more, last year EVERYBODY received a portrait from their Santa- I'm hoping for the same enthusiasm and courtesy again this year!  (Thank you again to those of you who made last year's SS such a huge success!)







APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE

10/21/13 - Secret Santa Registration Begins
11/25/13 - Registration Closes
11/26/13 - You recieve the name of your Santa recipient via DA note.
12/25/13 - 01/01/14 - Send your portrait to your Santa recipient
12/25/13 - 01/01/14 - Send in a copy of finished portrait to: mlheath@uncg.edu
12/26/13 - 12/30/13 - List of who-got-who is released on this blog post.





WHAT IS "SECRET SANTA?"

"Secret Santa" is a fun, free, and rewarding way of giving back to your fellow artist and to help brighten someone's day!  Once signed up, you will be registered on a list of participants (listed below).  Once you're signed up, be looking for a note to your DA account stating which number you 'pulled' for the Secret Santa drawing... this is the person who you'll be doing a portrait for!  Complete your portrait between the day you receive the name and December 25th, then on the 25th send the portrait to your Santa recipient (and to me for the collage)!  If all goes accordingly, you can also expect your Santa to send you a portrait they did for you on or around the 25th as well!





WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

  Secret Santa is open to ANY portrait artist of ANY skill level.  We encourage anyone and everyone to join, regardless of how much talent you believe yourself to have... just join!
 Because we had an issue with this during a previous year, if your DA account becomes inactive for a certain period of time your name will be removed from registration.  This is to ensure that everyone gets a portrait and no one is left out because someone decides to be lazy and/or a mooch.
  You are asked to not submit your finished portrait to your DA, FA, or any other website until time to send your portrait to your recipient... this is to ensure that the port is a complete surprise!
  Unfortunately, because this event relies on the reliability of others, we cannot guarantee that if you do a portrait you will receive one in return.  If you do not, please notify us.
  Any special requests (IE "I'd like to do someone with a feral character, please") will be accommodated to the best of my abilities, but can not be guaranteed.





WHAT IF I NEED TO ASK MY PORT RECIPIENT A QUESTION?

If you need to ask your recipient a question about their portrait, character, etc, please do not contact them!  Instead, send a DA note to me (ArcheryFiend) with the name of your recipient and your question.  I'll forward your question to your recipient, and when I receive a response I'll forward it on to you. This is to ensure that your identity isn't given away!
